Who I am
My name is Enrique Murguia and I grew up in an immigrant working-class family on the Southside of Milwaukee; my life has not always been easy, but it has shaped me into the man, the activist, and politician I am today. I’m a community organizer, an educator, a small business owner. I’ve taught programs to at-risk youth. I promoted the importance of civic engagement to disenfranchised communities. And I ran a screen printing company where I worked tirelessly to earn a living wage. Now, educated by a wealth of professional experience and experience with the community I intend to serve, I am ready to serve as State Representative for Wisconsin’s 8th Assembly District and put my experience, my drive, and my passion to work
Why I am Running
I am running for State Assembly because I know what it feels like to be unheard. I have worked my entire life to put our community first when politicians in Madison leave us behind. I want to best serve the neighborhood I love. I am eager to work with my community to develop innovative approaches to addressing the challenges we face because decisions for the people need to be made by the people. I am dedicated to fighting for immigrant rights, advocating for my community’s unique abilities and assets, uplifting small businesses, and improving the overall well-being of the community.
